[FNet034] Bad Form By Fature

Info
A lot of Fature's fifth album pays tribute to the pioneers of the West London and Broken Beat music scene and is heavily influenced by artists like Domu, 4Hero and Mr Scruff. 'Bad Form' takes on a more stylistic and jazzy approach to his previous albums but also has sprinkles of Ambient and Drum 'n Bass to exhibit his many talents.

Vocals on track 1 performed by Paul Groom.
Track 8 contains "At The Root" performed by Snowflake cc-by-nc-sa.

11th Mar 2012 - Leithal
1 Drum & Bass Lite: I like the "double" drums and the fuzzy ending
2 Old Skool
3 Old time melancholy
4 More melancholy and tiredness
5 Disjointed in a structured way
6 Incessant beat and an 8bit piano?
7 Nonsense in a good way
8 Menacing TRON soundtrack. Systemic dystopia
9 Discordant Piano is a good attention grabber.
Overall 10/9 Delightful
12th Mar 2012 - Waverine
i've been listening to this album on repeat, enjoying it very much! i like the variation. stunning uplifting beats, melodies, and also some very relaxing tunes. nice you brought in those vocals, works great. it's very well balanced, good job on compiling the tracklist! and a great overall atmosphere! must be my favourite album from you to date with too many favourite tracks to mention. cheers!

great album lee, really enjoyed it!
16th Mar 2012 - Babungus
Very enjoyable album! Digging the slightly off kilter nature and theme throughout with the detuned synths and fidgety beats. You have broken beats nailed man, truly an album to be proud of.
26th Mar 2012 - Plutonium Telecom
Great album ^^ Love the frantic calmness climaxing at Train Set Superpower :) that one's a must hear!!
27th Mar 2012 - Hellscion

Thanks for the kind comments :)
15th Apr 2012 - Illusion Of Presence
Context - nice upbeat introduction to the album, the bassline and vibe of this and some of the other tunes reminds me of roni size or early Bristol dnb, it has a very nostalgic feel, but up to date
Born to die - excellent rhythms although the snares sound a little harsh to my (probably oversensitive) ears, nice uplifting pads
Noth21ng ft Paul Groom - love the laidback piano and vocals, sultry jazz for a late night, the vocal work/breathing in the background also makes for interesting textures
Mammals We Are - love the atmospherics, a deep soundscape to dive into
Sour Grapes - chilled jazzy dnb, very nice piano
An Ode To Myself - love the drums on this one, broken beats that still maintain a good walk
Selfless Expression VIP Edit - distortion on the drums and the deranged pitch of the synths is great. Probably my fav
Train Set Super Power ft Snowflake - the deep slightly distorted atmospherics works really well with the soothing voice, very timely provocative lyrics
Vanilla - just the piano to finish...i find it quite a dark theme, closes the album nicely

All in all a great album, Fature on very good form ;)
